Falsetto

Falsetto is caused by the vibration of the ligamentous edges of the vocal folds and is the second highest vocal register after whistling. It sounds flutelike because it has no overtones and is generally limited to just an octave worth of notes a littler higher up than the normal range of the singer. But what do we care how it happens? All we know is that it gives us funky jitters in our disco pants, as we clasp our thighs around  the necks of browned Malibu riders and behind our glittery synthesizers.
If fairground strength testers taught us anything, it’s that it takes a strong man to get up high. Don’t worry baby, Donna or Debra will take on me and this Rockin’ Robin because here in Wuthering Heights, while the lion sleeps tonight, I believe in a thing called love.
This is a mix whose mama was gospel, whose grammy was opera and whose baby is the Mothership Connection within us all.
